Yesterday we gathered at Steep’d Coffee House for another Latte Learning, and this one hit different.
About the event
Lattes + Kicks: Making an Impact brought women together over coffee and conversation, then shifted into practical, real-world self-defense training led by Lisa Boucher (HR Ninja and 6th-degree black belt).
She walked us through situational awareness, threat recognition, and simple high-impact techniques that can be used in everyday life.
It was interactive, honest, and powerful. One of the strongest Latte Learning events we’ve hosted to date.
The digital experience
At 3tone Digital, Reina (creative ideator) and Tony (the implementor) design and build custom digital experiences for every one of our own events.
For Lattes + Kicks we launched a fully custom DAPP that included:
- A QR scan-in page greeting attendees the moment they arrived
- Digital resource libraries and takeaways they could keep after the event
- A clean, fast experience coded and hosted by us, no page builders, no proprietary platforms
Video, editing, and the entire web application were shot, built, and live within the course of a day. That’s how we roll.

Event takeaways
One of the clearest messages from the morning: take action.
Knowledge by itself isn’t enough. Real confidence comes from practicing, staying informed, and doing the work. That preparation has the potential to save lives.
For some of us that means signing up for a self-defense class.
For others it means bringing an expert like Lisa into the workplace to equip an entire team.
And when we pass these skills on to our kids, our families, and the people around us, the impact multiplies far beyond the room we were in yesterday.
This is what we love doing: creating spaces (and the digital tools that support them) where people leave more capable than when they arrived.
